Shamaritha Sugumar has been officially crowned Miss Grand Puducherry, becoming the first-ever titleholder of Miss Grand Puducherry and earning the honour of representing her Union Territory at Miss Grand India 2026. Her historic win marks a proud milestone for Puducherry as it makes its debut on the Miss Grand India platform.

At 21 years of age, Shamaritha Sugumar is a Commerce graduate (B.Com) with a strong academic foundation and a deep-rooted passion for the fine arts. She is a trained Kathak dancer, an accomplished violinist, and a Carnatic singer—beautifully reflecting the cultural richness and artistic legacy of Puducherry.

As the first Miss Grand Puducherry, Shamaritha carries the responsibility of setting a strong legacy. For her, pageantry is more than a celebration of beauty; it is a platform for purpose. Her advocacy focuses on Digital Peace and Wellness for the Physically Challenged, with a mission to promote inclusive, secure, and empathetic digital spaces while raising awareness about online accessibility and mental well-being for individuals with different abilities.

“I see this crown as a responsibility rather than a symbol,” Shamaritha shared. “It is about leading with grace, amplifying important causes, and celebrating diversity.”

She will now represent Puducherry at Miss Grand India 2026, held under the official license of Star Entertainment Production (StarEP Business India Pvt. Ltd.), the authorized national organization for Miss Grand India. The winner of Miss Grand India earns the prestigious opportunity to represent the country internationally at the Miss Grand International Organization.

Adding to the global significance of this journey, India is set to host Miss Grand International 2026, placing the nation at the center of international pageantry. This makes Miss Grand India 2026 a landmark edition, with participants carrying not just national pride but global responsibility.

With her cultural depth, artistic excellence, and strong advocacy, Shamaritha Sugumar’s historic reign as the first Miss Grand Puducherry promises to inspire young women across the Union Territory and beyond.
